2 Person Tents are primarily used for backpacking and campers who prefer to sleep alone. Typically, a 2 person tent measures 5 feet by 6 feet or 5 feet by 7 feet. There is usually enough space to accommodate a sleeping bag and a foot of floor space to store your clothes and stuff. 
There are some 2 person dome tents that can actually accommodate 2 people but they tend to be on the high end price (hundreds of dollars). On the list on my website, the price for a 2 person dome tent is usually under $100.
Other options is 2 children will sleep comfortably in a 2 person dome tent. They don’t need as much space and because they are not as tall, they should have no problem standing in these close quarters. Also, kids love small spaces. Another key point, is that small quarters will keep the occupants warmer than a larger family tent on a cold night.
